Win rate is the percentage of games you win out of all games played. It is calculated by dividing your total wins by total games played, then multiplying by 100. Win rate is the most important metric in competitive gaming because it directly reflects your ability to win matches and climb ranks.
In ranked competitive games, win rate is more important than individual performance metrics like K/D ratio. Even if you have impressive stats, only wins count toward climbing ranks. A consistent 52% win rate over hundreds of games will steadily increase your rank, while a 48% win rate will cause you to decay over time.
Professional and high-elo players typically maintain 55-65% win rates when smurfing or climbing. At their true rank, they settle around 50-52% win rate, which is exactly how MMR systems are designed to work - placing you where you belong.
