How to Use the eDPI Calculator

1

Find Your Mouse DPI

Check your mouse software (Logitech G Hub, Razer Synapse, etc.) or mouse settings to find your current DPI. Common values are 400, 800, 1600, or 3200 DPI.

2

Check In-Game Sensitivity

Open your game settings and locate the sensitivity or mouse sensitivity value. This is usually found in Settings → Mouse or Controls. Note the exact number.

3

Calculate Your eDPI

Enter both values into the calculator above. Your eDPI is automatically calculated by multiplying DPI × In-Game Sensitivity. Use this number to compare settings across games.

Understanding eDPI

What is eDPI?

eDPI, or effective Dots Per Inch, is a standardized measurement of mouse sensitivity in gaming. It combines your mouse's hardware DPI setting with your in-game sensitivity multiplier to create a single number that represents your true sensitivity.

The formula is simple: eDPI = Mouse DPI × In-Game Sensitivity

Why eDPI Matters

Different games use different sensitivity scales. For example, a sensitivity of 1.0 in Valorant feels completely different from 1.0 in CS2. eDPI provides a universal measurement that lets you:

  • Compare your sensitivity across different games
  • Match pro player settings accurately
  • Maintain consistent muscle memory when switching games
  • Find your optimal sensitivity range

eDPI Ranges Explained

Very Low (100-200 eDPI)

Ultra-precise arm aiming. Requires large mousepad. Popular with tactical players and snipers.

Low (200-400 eDPI)

Most popular among pro players. Excellent for precision. Requires medium-large mousepad.

Medium (400-800 eDPI)

Balanced approach. Good for both precision and quick turns. Works with standard mousepads.

High (800-1600 eDPI)

Fast-paced gameplay. Wrist-focused aiming. Common in arena shooters and battle royales.

Very High (1600+ eDPI)

Extremely fast. Requires excellent mouse control. Rare in competitive play.
