What is CM/360?

CM/360 (centimeters per 360 degrees) is the universal measurement of mouse sensitivity in gaming. It tells you exactly how many centimeters you need to move your mouse to complete a full 360-degree rotation in-game. Unlike DPI or in-game sensitivity values which vary between games, CM/360 is consistent and comparable across all titles.

Why CM/360 Matters

CM/360 is the most practical way to understand and communicate sensitivity because it's physical and intuitive. When a pro says they use "30 cm/360," you immediately know they need to move their mouse 30 centimeters for a full turn. This makes it easy to compare settings, maintain consistency across games, and understand if a sensitivity will fit your mousepad.

The Math Behind It

CM/360 is calculated using: (2.54 × 360) / (DPI × Sensitivity) = CM/360. The formula converts inches to centimeters (2.54) and accounts for a full rotation (360 degrees). Your effective DPI (eDPI = DPI × Sensitivity) determines how far you need to move your mouse physically to achieve that rotation.

How to Find Your Perfect CM/360

Measure Your Mousepad

Measure your mousepad's usable width in centimeters. A standard gaming mousepad is 36-45cm wide, while XL pads can be 90cm or more. Your target cm/360 should be 60-80% of this width.
