Use our FOV calculator for Counter-Strike 2 to optimize your gameplay settings and improve performance.
Convert your horizontal FOV between different aspect ratios.
103° (16:9) → 4:3
86.6°
Field of view (FOV) determines how wide your viewport is in-game. When you change monitor aspect ratio or resolution — say, switching from a 16:9 monitor to a 4:3 stretched setup — the same FOV number in the game settings produces a completely different effective viewport. The FOV calculator translates your intended FOV between any two aspect ratios.
Enter your current horizontal FOV in Counter-Strike 2, select your current aspect ratio, then select the target aspect ratio. The calculator outputs the FOV setting you should enter to maintain the same effective viewport width.
Most competitive Tactical FPS players use the maximum available FOV (typically 103°–110° horizontal on 16:9) to see as much of the battlefield as possible. A wider FOV gives more situational awareness but can slightly distort edges. Players on 4:3 stretched resolutions often use lower FOV values to compensate for the aspect ratio change.
FOV changes how much world is visible but does not directly affect hip-fire mouse sensitivity. However, if you change FOV significantly, your crosshair movement will cover a different portion of the screen per cm of mouse movement — so some players readjust sensitivity after a large FOV change.
Most games including Counter-Strike 2 let you set horizontal FOV. Vertical FOV is derived from horizontal FOV plus your aspect ratio. This calculator works with horizontal FOV — enter the number from your Counter-Strike 2 settings directly.
The game does not automatically compensate for different aspect ratios. A 90° FOV on 16:9 shows less vertical screen space than 90° on 4:3. Converting ensures your peripheral vision coverage stays consistent regardless of monitor shape.
