Gold Find is a stat that increases all gold drops by a percentage. You can get Gold Find from:
Aim for 100-150% Gold Find minimum for efficient farming. Every 10% Gold Find significantly increases your hourly income. It's often worth sacrificing some damage stats for Gold Find when farming.
Faster clear times don't always mean more gold per hour. Consider this example:
Method B is slower per run but earns more overall. Focus on activities with high gold density rather than just speed. Nightmare Dungeons with good layouts and elite density often beat faster but less rewarding activities.
High-tier NM dungeons provide excellent gold from completion rewards, elite kills, and item drops. Focus on dungeons with linear layouts and high elite density. Avoid dungeons with backtracking.
Helltides offer consistent gold from events, chests, and cinder conversion. The Tortured Gift chests provide massive value. Farm in groups for increased efficiency and safety.
Fast-clearing The Pit provides excellent gold per time invested. Higher tiers offer better rewards but ensure you can clear them quickly without deaths.
Short duration but very high gold density. Always participate when available. Multiple waves of elites provide substantial gold with minimal clear time.
Not all items should be picked up. Follow this priority system:
Set an inventory value threshold. If an item won't sell/salvage for at least 1,000 gold, skip it. Time spent picking up trash items costs you more in opportunity loss than the items are worth.
Every second not farming is lost income. Optimize your routine:
A build that clears 10% slower but never dies is better than a glass cannon that requires frequent repairs and rezzes. Factor in defensive stats and movement speed for consistent farming.
Use this calculator but also track real results. Note your gold at the start of a session and after 1 hour. Compare actual vs expected and adjust your strategy. Screenshots help track progress.
Legion events and World Bosses spawn on schedules. Plan farming sessions to include these high-value events. A single Legion can provide 100k+ gold in 3 minutes.
Don't grind one activity for hours. Rotate between Nightmare Dungeons, Helltide, and The Pit to avoid burnout and maximize variety. Mental fatigue reduces efficiency over time.
Each season introduces unique mechanics that affect gold farming. Stay updated on seasonal bonuses, limited-time events, and meta shifts. Early season, focus on leveling. Late season, optimize gold farming for gear upgrades and experimentation.
Playing in a 4-player group provides: faster clears, party gold bonuses, shared MF/GF, and safety in numbers. Everyone gets individual loot drops, so there's no competition. Find a consistent farming group for maximum efficiency.
Your inventory space is limited and your time is valuable. Picking up and vendoring magic/normal items wastes more time than the gold is worth. Be selective.
Deaths are expensive. Each death costs repair gold plus the time lost. A safer, slightly slower build often earns more net gold than a risky speed build.
Not all content provides equal gold. Campaign areas, low-tier dungeons, and exploration give poor returns. Focus on level-appropriate endgame activities.
"But it lowers my DPS!" - Yes, but 150% Gold Find means you earn 2.5x more gold per run. That's often worth a 20% damage reduction. Keep a Gold Find set for farming.
If you're struggling with content or dying frequently, you're losing gold. Drop down to easier tiers until you're clearing smoothly, then move up. Consistency beats difficulty.
Gold Find elixirs cost 5k but can net you 50k+ extra per hour. That's a 10x return on investment. Use your consumables - they're meant to be consumed!
There's a "breakpoint" where Gold Find becomes more valuable than damage. If you can clear content comfortably with 150% Gold Find gear, you'll earn significantly more than with full DPS gear. Test both setups for one hour each and compare results. Most players are surprised that the Gold Find set wins by a large margin. The key is finding the balance where you maintain acceptable clear speed while maximizing gold income.
